Maintenance requirements vary with coolant, machining process, particulate load and operating time. A fixed service interval should only be published after the actual application and approved maintenance instructions are confirmed.
Before maintenance
- Stop the collector and machine according to the site safety procedure.
- Isolate electrical power before opening covers or accessing rotating components.
- Allow moving parts to stop completely.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment for the coolant and collected contamination.
Inspection checklist
Inlet and ducting
- Check that the inlet and connecting duct are secure.
- Look for restrictions, collapsed hose, loose clamps or visible leakage.
- Confirm that the connection does not interfere with the machine door or service access.
Drainage path
- Check the drain tube for blockage, kinks or backflow.
- Confirm that separated liquid reaches the intended collection or return point.
- Clean external spills and investigate their source.
Internal filters
- Open the cover only after safe isolation.
- Inspect the multilayer filter for loading, damage or incorrect seating.
- Clean or replace filter elements using the approved method for the installed configuration.
Optional HEPA post-filter
- Inspect the post-filter housing and sealing surfaces.
- Replace the element when the confirmed application limit or approved maintenance condition is reached.
- Do not wash a filter unless its specific instructions permit washing.
Motor, mounting and vibration
- Check mounting bolts, brackets and supports.
- Investigate unusual noise or vibration before continued operation.
- Keep the motor ventilation area clear.
Record what was found
Maintenance records should include the date, machine, collector model, observed filter condition, work completed and replacement parts. These records help establish an application-specific inspection interval without relying on an unsupported universal schedule.
